University of Lausanne notifies Masters Degree Scholarship 2014
INTRODUCTION
UNIL MASTERS GRANTS
To facilitate access to Masters degrees by students with qualifications from foreign universities, the University of Lausanne makes available around ten Masters grants which are awarded on a competitive basis
Programmes concerned
Candidates must choose a Masters programme from among those offered by the UNIL, except:
a) Master of Medicine
b) Master of Arts in Sciences and Practices of Education
c) Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne
d) Master of Law in Criminal Sciences, judiciary mention
Caution: For the Master of Law, students can apply for the scholarship Master for two of the seven references proposed, namely: International and Comparative Law and legal theory.
The grant may not be used for any complementary studies required to enroll on the Masters degree and may not be used for EMBAs or Masters of Advanced studies.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Selection criteria
The grants are intended more particularly for students who distinguished themselves in their university studies and who have difficulty meeting their financial needs for the duration of the Masters
It is however necessary that the candidates have sufficient financial means to support themselves during the complementary studies that may be required prior to enroll on the Masters degree

Amount and duration of the grant
The amount of the grant is CHF 1,600 per month from 15th September to 15 July, for a duration not exceeding the regulation minimum period of the programme (according to the programme, one-and-a-half years or two years subject to deduction for paid placements or exempt semesters, if any)
Abandonment of the programme results in suspension of the grant
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be the holder of a degree from a foreign university
The qualification held by the candidate must be deemed equivalent to the UNIL Bachelors degree
Selection Procedure
Candidates complete the "UNIL Masters Grant" form and submit their application to the Office for socio-cultural affairs (SASC, Unicentre, University of Lausanne, CH-1015 Lausanne, info.sasc@unil.ch) within the deadline
The application is examined by the University Rectorate to determine whether the candidate is admissible
In the event of a positive decision, the application is forwarded by the SASC to the UNIL Faculty responsible for the Masters on which the candidate wishes to be enrolled
The Faculty selects applications and notifies the SASC of its opinion based on the candidates qualities, motivation and suitability for the Masters programme
The SASC forwards shortlisted applications to the selection committee which will award grants to students meeting all criteria according to the available budget

How to Apply
Candidates complete the UNIL Masters Grant form and submit their application to the Office for socio-cultural affairs (SASC, Unicentre, University of Lausanne, CH-1015 Lausanne, info.sasc@unil.ch) within the deadline
The application is examined by the University Rectorate to determine whether the candidate is admissible
Once they are sure that all conditions are satisfied, candidates should send their original application within the deadline, complete, unbound and with no documents printed both sides, to the following address: Universit�© de Lausanne, Service des affaires socio-culturelles, Unicentre, CH-1015 Lausanne, Switzerland
Note: Only complete applications submitted within the deadlines will be examined. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that all documents and supporting information are submitted as requested.
The UNIL will not inform students if any documents are missing, incomplete or not in compliance, and no further action will be taken regarding the UNIL Masters grant application
Deadline for Applications: 15th December 2014 to start the Masters in the 2015 autumn semester (2015A) or in the 2016 spring semester (2016P)
Applications must be submitted to the Office for socio-cultural affairs before 15 December 2014
